It's the standard suite...only the 330s have the UCDS.

Hope this helps...

Yes, on the A346 (and A343) you get the "classic" UCS which many V-Flyers prefer over the newer UCDS installed on the A333s.

It's generally thought to be slightly more spacious - helped by the fact the rows are only 3 across instead of 4 on the A333 - and they don't have the "windows" between seats that reduce privacy on the A333.

They don't, however, have the newest touch screen IFE - but it's still on demand and perfectly acceptable.

Don't forget though that the standard UCS is slightly narrower and has a smaller arm rest on all the A340 aircraft compared to the UCS on the main deck of all the 744's (I believe the UCS on the upper deck of the LHR 744's are identical to the A340 UCS)

Just re-visting this one...

Seats have opened up for my flight in Oct to HKG. What's everyone's favourite? I'll be travelling with a colleague but not too bothered with being able to chat during the flight!

Thanks,

3,4, or 5 K. Bassinet is at 8G so I tend to try and avoid that area and I avoid 2K if possible due to being next to the loo ( people queuing at the end of the ottoman to use the loo and the noise of the loo flushing).

Thanks DL - do these seats face the wall? I am right in thinking 11 and 12 do as well?

4/5k for me too. Seats up to 7k face a wall, and then 9a onwards face a wall.

I've been around the houses on this particular bird. Started off with 1D as it's definitely the most private (IMO) given its forward position, but then realised that the middle seats are a bit shorter in bed mode, and the 200/201 are the only flights I take where I stand a chance of getting any sleep.

Then onto 2A which seatguru said was a 'very private suite', nope it's not. Then 2K - too close too the loos. Now I've settled on 9A, private, close but not too close to the bar, and a decent hedge as to whether the front or mid door is used to disembark.

Though is there the risk of then being close to 8 where the bassinet might be?
