Just returned from MCO (MAN to MCO return). PE outbound and UC inbound. There were 10 of us on this trip however next year it will just be my 7.

What are my chances of getting some sort of deal from VS for purchasing 7 out of the 14 UC seats inbound (or both ways if the price is right)??

We found if more expensive because there are only so many tickets available at the lowest fare, so from memory two of our 11 family paid slightly more. The problem with LGW 747s is there are only 14 UC seats. This year we have 15 adults and four under 2's going to Beaches Jamaica in CW with BA and BA holidays were good enough to allow all tickets at the bucket price of £1296 plus accommodation and I get over 60,000 bonus Avios

You can always ask - the worst they can say is 'no'.

May be more amenable if you travel on the least popular travel days

A tip. And I could be shot for giving away a trade secret.... Don't try and book seven, try and book them one at a time and see the difference in price. If the fare bucket you are trying to book from has less than seven seats, then if you try and book seven ALL of them will be at the fare for the next fare level up....

I think you're safe Sarastro, as I was going to suggest the same, and I suspect a lot on this site know a fair bit more than me about fare buckets too :-) There is the minor downside about split PNRs, increased risk of partial bumping, seat moves etc, but in a cabin of only 14, it's pretty likely that there would be savings available from this approach, if you could get even a couple of them as Zs or Is...
