Hi there

So I know virgin is stopping this route in Jan, I am truly devastated, have flown this route for 6 years which means 6 years gold card holder and 1/2 million airmiles.
Can anyone offer any advice about what to do next. Do I fly ANA and then I can keep my tier points going, the thing is I only can book premium economy seats then upgrade using FC miles, but I fear I cannot do this with ANA.
Any help would be appreciated

No you can't use miles to upgrade on partner airlines, only for full redemptions (if you can find any).

Do you fly any other VS routes? If not, to be honest there seems little point in continuing to collect miles & TPs. You could use your existing miles to try and get ANA business class redemptions, or else find another way to spend them. If you fly LHR-Tokyo regularly it would make sense to join the FF scheme of whichever airline you'll be using in future. And it's worth asking if they'll status match you.

we are in the same position except without the TPs and miles
for now we are going to try BA as we can collect avios on european flights
and most important we can transfer amex points to BAEC which we cant do with ANA.
