Ams - Las

We have, for the first time, following the really helpful advice of our fellow V Flyers, just arranged our next Las trip ex Ams. We used Expedia to do the booking and the saving was astronomical! Thanks so much for the advice. UC here we come again!

Was AMS coming out cheapest then? It rarely does when I look - usually cheaper via BRU or DUB but there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to ex-EU fares.

I have also played around with some routes and got Ams to Vegas return for £3500 UC for the two of us. Have not factored in the getting to Ams part yet and luggage allowance on route, hubby thinks its too messy and would rather wait for a sale and go direct.

Been a few years since LGW to LAS has been as low as 1750 quid per person. Best you might expect is a little under 2K, and not even sure I've seen that in the last year.

I guess with U2 offering great pricing to Europe, especially with loads of AMS rotations, these may balance out for price and convenience?

Forgot to mention that price was flying with BA in Club, virgin were coming up as not available.

Our numbers came out at £1750 each return. The Ams add on is less than £200 so circa £3700 in total. The inconvenience for us is minimal. I checked Dub - which was £2100 each via LGW or LHR which, as Mancunians, was not the best option for us in terms of either price or route. VS were pricing the trip at £8k for us and I can't imagine there will be the £2k sale this year.....but who knows.

When looking on Expedia - what class should I select for VS UC - would it be business class or would that be PE..? Is there any way to be sure?
