Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out the most effective way to head to ORD for the bank holiday weekend in April, unfortunately falling outside the VS seasonal service.

Currently the booking system is suggesting LHR-ATL-ORD for outbound and ORD-JFK-LHR for inbound. For the sake of travel time I was hoping I could head Stateside via JFK and return using the same route - but JFK doesn't seem to be an option heading outbound...?

I'd prefer to have a VS leg involved so that I can book in PE (at 6'4" I can deal with DL economy for a couple of hours I imagine). I've never had to get DL involved with my trips so I'm unclear how miles/TPs are awarded - I was under the impression that trips at <3000 with DL would bag me 1 TP for each sector...though the site is stating that I'm only going to get 6 TP for the round trip - are TPs not awarded for domestic or connecting flights?

If anyone has had any dealings with this, I could use some insight as I'm going in a little blind here!

You will get DL TP for the connecting flights; the VS IT system just isn't able to calculate them when booking, sadly. For a domestic economy flight you'll get 1 TP each way, so you'll get 8 total for your journey if you fly PE to and from the US.

Usually DL TP credit to your FC account quickly (as long as your FC number is included in the booking), but last time for us they didn't. Contacting CS worked fine and we got our miles and points.

Call VS to get the route you want, probably better than trying to get the web site to cough up good options. However Detroit starts on 1 June so that's not an option.

Detroit would've been a good plan but as mentioned the route wouldn't have started yet. Including VS means your options are either via JFK or ATL..give VS a call.

Thanks for the replies all - have done a little digging around at it looks like ATL out and JFK in are more or less my only options if I wanted to take VS over the channel. Maybe we'll get a year-round service some day!
