Booked fab extra legroom seats on our flight to NY next summer through Manage my booking, chuffed , new system worked fast and efficient . However I am not able to view seats now they are booked unlike I did this summer. I know I don't need to see them in front of me but untill the new system came into play I was able to bring the seat map up through manage my booking and see how the flight was booking up . I emailed Virgin and got a reply back within 24 hours and was told now that I have booked and paid for extra legroom seats I was not able to view them . What about if I wanted to change seats ? It seems I would now have to call them . Has anyone else had this message appear when they have gone back to view booked seats using thd new seat booking system that has just come live ?
It might be, at a guess to do with allocation of the Extra Leg Room seats as it is done at check in?

Extra leg room can be booked now through Manage my booking, on line , which is what I have done. Just don't see why I cannot view them
I have exit row seats booked for outbound economy flight next year and can see them (and move them) on the seat map in MMB ever since the new seating system went live
I have the exact same with Seat Plus - I guess its because they are allocated at the desk on the day...
Strange, as I am sure they know now where I am seated, but perhaps they don't want you do look at the seatmap see a load are empty in case they have to move you? I have no idea, but its a touch frustrating too - one of the little joys knowing this before you fly.

This has been part of a major issue for me since Thursday morning. I tried to upgrade from Economy to PE and it's all gone wrong since then. There were issues with acceptance of my payment despite providing all my card details online twice. Then spoke to someone and gave my details again. The next day I went to check on seat allocation and couldn't even see my booking!
After lots of online chat and phone calls over the next couple of days I was eventually able to see my booking again so I went to the seat allocation page to select our seats. I could see the few remaining PE seats but kept getting told that there was a server error every time I tried to select one.
It's now over 5 days since I tried to get this upgrade so that my wife can be comfortable in what will be her 24th week of pregnancy by then. I've lost the reasonable Economy seats we had upstairs and I'm worried now we'll end up stuck in a centre row in PE for the extra £220 I've paid.
It wasn't until I'd had my 5th or 6th conversation that an agent was able to ensure that my payment had been accepted and I was able to even access the seat map. Anyone else who is also unable to access the seat map after choosing upgrades or extra legroom or seat plus seats may be experiencing the same issue. I would recommend checking that this isn't the problem. Hopefully you have more success with selecting your required seat than I have so far.
Yesterday I sent an email about my problem to Craig Kreeger (CEO Virgin Atlantic), but not heard anything back yet.

Thanks for the info . At least i know that our extra leg room seats have been booked , paid for and confirmed by an email. Thats why it is realy strange that i cant just click on wheres my seats, view or change , in MMB. You always used to be able to get back onto the seat map and see your seats blacked out ! The virgin rep just said as your seats are booked and paid for and confirmed i cannot now get back back on to the seatmap to see the. !!! Why not ? Some people seem to be able to
