I just saw this buried in a recent View from the Wing post. Unfortunately VS miles are valued at the bottom of the pile.

The valuation is obviously subjective, but it's an interesting benchmark to consider when purchasing miles from VS either directly (1.5p per mile), or via Miles Booster (1p per mile).

Worth is very subjective.
Cost I agree 1p via miles booster, which I have paid.
Or 1.5p direct which I haven't paid.
I use miles to upgrade from economy to Upper and even at sale prices 50,000 miles get me £1500 worth of upgrade.
I make that about 3.3p
Since I haven't bought in the sales the real worth to me is probably more like 10p a mile

0.6p a mile is pretty low IMO, or at least how I choose to spend my miles.

I have a few spreadsheets working out different scenarios |:) . For example, the M-G we are doing to Chicago generate a cash saving per FC mile used of 6.56 (excluding the miles collected via the VS black CC as there's a charge for those, and also not consider ex-DUB as a genuine alternative), which is not easy to beat compared to miles from other FFPs. The BA WTP+ to CW that I've calculated works out to be 2.2p a mile (and I struggled to get this to increase, without a 241 voucher) so for me the FC miles are better value (and buying them at 1p per mile with the miles booster is not a bad price), but of course YMMV.
