Hi Everyone,
I have seen a few forum postings on this across the internet, but a lot seemed to be years old or give a definative answer, probably because there isn't one!
Me and my friends are off to Vegas in May for 4 nights, outbound is during the day on a Wednesday and then overnight on the way back Sunday/Monday.
I am a good 6'4 and have very long legs and I have flown long haul standard economy before and it can be pretty hellish. So I have persuaded my friends for an upgraded seat, mostly using the cashback I got on the holiday by being savy! One is 6ft, the other only 5'5.
Both exit row and extra legroom are the same price at £45, what are the opinions over which is better, I cant really find many photos or anything to really see. None of us is large so the narrower seats of the exit row dont really bother me, and we can stick the shorter person in the seat with the door protusion. And it just means people can get up without disturbing everyone else. The upper deck exit row is already gone as that would have been an easy choice.
On the way out its a choice between the extra legroom rows in the 40s or exit row 49 away from the toilets. On the way back 25 abc are free which look like quite good ones for night and some of the first off the plane. Some people complain about the noise of the galley, but in extra legroom you have people to the middle, close to the toilets and near the cots?! People might pay more for extra legroom if they were in the bubble, I would.
I have never slept a wink on a plane so its probably pointless worrying but I just like to get the most bang for my buck! My feeling is for exit row, despite the downsides. Its a bit harsh on my friend having to pay £90 for the inside seat but hey.
Also the website says some bookings can upgrade, but I cant see that for mine anywhere. Generally how much would they charge at the airport for an upgrade to PE if we had already paid the £45 extra?
