Question about reward bookings and flight cancellation

Managed to grab 2 x G reward seats out to SFO on the VS041 flight later this year

I have seen a thread here about this flight being cancelled a number of times, possibly due to light loads

If this happened to my flight and UC was full on the earlier flight would i be downgraded to a cabin with space or put on a Delta flight in the same cabin class the same day?

It is very unlikely you would be involuntarily downgraded. If they decide to merge flights they do so usually knowing they will be able to move everyone without issue, so I really wouldn't worry.

In all honesty it wouldn`t be a problem getting the earlier VS flight, no onward connections to worry about

Just get to the hotel in the afternoon instead of the evening
