Hi guys,

Does anyone by any chance have (or a copy/photo of) an Upper Class in flight food/drink menu, from this month, with the current and new choices on?

Any would be good, as an idea of what to expect, but preferably one that's from either VS75 or 76 as that's what we're flying in May.

Thank you for any help you guys could give.

I was on the VS75 in early February & the menu had just changed. My post with the full menu on the outbound flight can be found below;
http://v-flyer.com/forum/index.php?f=4& ... ic#p894812

This menu was dated Feb 2015. Virgin normally change the menus every three months or so in Upper, so depending on when you fly in May, it may well have changed again. I'm on the VS75 again on 2nd May, so will report back on the current menu then.

For the inbound VS74 (but same menu for the VS76), look below;
http://v-flyer.com/forum/index.php?f=4& ... ic#p895604
This was a menu dated December 2014, so it is all but 100% certain you will not get this on your return flight. Again, I am on the VS76 later in May, so will report back again.

Thanks for the info, Kraken! Just what I was after!

I'll be flying the 75 on the 9th May, and will actually be in Manchester on the 2nd to see the 75 off from MAN on that day, in excitement for our trip the following Saturday!

I'll look out for your report following that trip :)

Regards,

This is great - we fly to Orlando on Wednesday and I've been wondering what the menu was.
We've not flown with Virgin for a long, long time, so I'm looking forward to it - especially the cheese!:D

Many thanks Kraken!

Just a quick question.....do you happen to know if it said the outbound menu was valid on the LGW flights too?

The outbound menu posted in my linked post (above) was for the VS 73 / 75 / 77 - which are all ex-Manchester flights. (Orlando & Barbados).

I would imagine that the outbound menus from Gatwick are not over different. Maybe the Manchester flights have their "own" menu card with just the ex-MAN flight numbers on because Virgin use a different caterer at Manchester to Gatwick? (I don't know - but it would seem logical).

The inbound menu I posted had a lot more ex-US flight numbers on it, so again, I suspect these flights originate from bases where Virgin use one particular catering company.

The food on flights from the UK is generally better than those departing from the USA too.

Thank for the additional info Kraken - it's much appreciated!

It does make sense that the catering companies could be different in MAN compared to LGW.

ISTBC but I'm not sure there is a separate kids' menu. You have to preorder kids' meals and I suspect they're the same in all cabins, just presented differently.

If you have very fussy eaters I'd recommend eating before the flight in the Clubhouse or departure lounge, where there's a far wider range of options.

If you leave it till you're on board it's pretty much take it or leave it although if none of the UC adult choices appeal the crew may be able to source a spare Y or PE meal if the flight's not full.

Thanks gumshoe
We have pre ordered, and I too suspect they are the same as the rest of the cabins.
We'll aim for a big family breakfast in the clubhouse anyhow :-)

Hi - we flew MAN - MCO on Wednesday 18th on the VS075. The menu was different to that posted above. It states at the bottom: VS073/075/077 March 2015.
Here's the menu:

Starters:
Pea and mint soup
Warm chicken satay
Buffalo mozzarella and Roma tomatoes

Warm breads - harlequin double wholemeal roll, rustic ciabatta, maize topped soft white roll.

Mains:
Lemon and thyme chicken
Seafood linguine
Kerala curry
Chilled Thai beef salad

Pudding:
Warm brioche and butter pudding
Chocolate torte

Cheese and port:
French brie
Stilton
Applewood wedge

I had the chicken satay - small, but lovely. My partner had the mozzarella and Roma tomatoes, a strange choice for him as he doesn't like mozzarella (!!), but he enjoyed it, but he would have preferred larger/more tomatoes.
For main I had the linguine, which was gorgeous. My partner had the chicken, which he also enjoyed.
Got pudding, I had the chocolate torte - scrumptious, but very rich.

Unfortunately, I didn't have room for the cheese, I was too full!

Later on, hot snacks were available on the bar, but I was still full, but several other passengers enjoyed this.

Later on, we were offered Afternoon Tea, a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches:
Smoked chicken
Egg with mint and Cheshire cheese (urrgghh)
Tuna nicoise
Followed by warm scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam (gorgeous), and a choice of cakes: gateau opera cake, fruity choux bun, mini orange cupcake.

We certainly didn't go hungry - or thirsty. It was a very enjoyable flight, with great FA's

Thanks for this! Not sure how long each menu last for though? If they change it monthly / bi-monthly / seasonally etc? (If anyone knows, this would be good to know?)

Sounds like a good menu though, I'd be happy with that for May :) Don't suppose you got any snaps of the food did you?
