Virgin 787 Dreamliner route East Coast USA - August 2015

Hi

I would be very grateful if anyone could advise me if Virgin will be operating the 787 Dreamliner from either New York or Boston back to the UK on the 21,22,23 or 24 August 2015.

My daughter and I are hoping to cruise to New York and spend a few days in the USA before flying back to the UK. If VS are not flying the 787 from New York we may be going to Boston so could fly back from there if that is a Dreamliner route.

I would love to be on the 787 as I am hoping to upgrade to Premium Economy as a treat for my daughter's birthday (we have only ever flown economy before).

Is there anyone in the know about such things please?

If you do a dummy booking you can check the plane type scheduled by clicking on 'flight details' (or similar wording) in the date / flight matrix.

However you cannot be 100% guaranteed to be on a 787 because it could be swapped at the last moment

Thanks for the replies. I never realised you could see the aircraft types on the booking page!

From there it appears that the Dreamliner on these dates is scheduled on the Newark 22.30 flight, which seems strange. I would have thought that if Virgin were using the 787 for the New York route it would have been in and out of JFK.

My VS004 flight mid May was meant to be a 789, but has just switched this week to a 333. Slightly gutted.

Yes the problem is that no matter what it states when you book, the aircraft type is still subject to change through operational needs. I would be fed up also.
