Long time lurker, first time poster!

I have upper tickets for LHR to JFK for June this year, and though the seat map still shows a 747 layout, all the trip reports and recent flights (VS009 specifically) seem to have been on the A330. Is it the case now that the vast majority of LHR - JFK flights are on the A330 or are Virgin still flying the 747? Looking at VS009 for tomorrow, it's still showing as 747 flight.

If it does change from the 747, how much notice would I usually get to change my seat reservations?

Thanks in advance :)

You won't get an email saying there is a plane change.

You'd have to keep checking in manage your bookings yourself.

i am on the vs10 coming back & its currently listed as a 747 - was looking at the planes & the vs04 is listed as being a 787
tempted to swap to a 787, but I prefer the seating plan on the 747

We will be on the VS111 on the 22nd May, showing as an A330, must admit I'd prefer a craft with a "bubble" I like sitting upstairs...

We have pre-booked seats 25A/C seats at rear of cabin - hope these are ok...
