Had the smoothest journey ever to and through the airport, wonderful time In the CH, just as we were about to take off we've had to return to stand....Reason being, as those of you in London im sure can see its lashing it down right now, but the captains windscreen whipers now won't turn off so we can't take off lol.

Add this delay to the rather long 10 hour flight time and I'll probably be getting into MIA rather later than planned! It's all good though, this is where it really does pay to be in upper.

The good news is it gave me an excuse to do one of these "live" posts from the aircraft which I always wanted to do.

Hope to give you an update from the sky soon!

Good afternoon - sorry to hear about the delay but at least you enjoyed the CH.

Have a great flight and look forward to the Live Reporting.

Captain personally came into the cabin again, and gave a speech in person which is a nice touch...still on stand, you'd think it would be easy to fix!

I can't believe they have acknowledged it is the wipers - it sounds so unlikely! You would have thought that they might have blamed the delay on something more dramatic !!

Yes indeed, the captain said he has never seen. Anything like it in his career ...

So they had to gt a replacement switch, problem is that the switch was located off the airport....so they've had to go and get it and then go through security etc....then fit the switch, then test it.

Still here, 2 hours since our initial pushback .
