So I booked DL first class to watch NYCFC play their inaugural home opener a couple of weekends ago specifically for the extra TPs.

Got home, sent the usual "where are my miles?" email and got the following reply:

Dear Andrew

Thank you for your email. I apologise for the delayed.

Regretfully, we are unable to credit miles for the following flights to your Flying Club account, as the miles/points have already been credited to your Delta Airlines frequent flyer account:

DL1066 BNA-ATL 14MAR15
DL1786 ATL-LGA 14MAR15
DL786 LGA-ATL 16MAR15
DL1676 ATL-BNA 16MAR15

Miles cannot be earned for the same activity in more than one reward programme. The choice of which reward programme you want miles to be credited must be made at the time of booking and cannot be changed after travel.

***End

I'm not really after the miles, although they would be nice, and I didn't do anything different than any other DL booking I've made, so what gives?

And more importantly, will I still get the TPs?

PS, I need 16 TPs before the end of April for AU and have 12 more DL first class + 2 x VS G's to collect yet plus VS Black March spend ($5K+) and April UK trip expenditures.

But I really need the 12 TPs from the DL flight.

Thoughts?

It's unclear from your post whether you attached your DL or VS FF number to the booking.

Which FF account did you use? DL SkyMiles or VS FlyingClub?

If you attached your DL number, you won't get VS miles or TPs.

Have the miles/points been credited to your DL account? If so, I'm not sure there's a lot you can do although I guess you could try calling DL if you booked on delta.com.

The miles and TPs are linked. Miles cannot be credited to one FF account and TPs to another.

Did you book these via your VS account or via a DL Account?

I'm assuming that you created (even inadvertently) at some point a DL account and this is now automatically linked to any bookings you make via delta.com

You need to check you have your VS number attached to each of the bookings rather than the DL one otherwise it will happen again and again.

That's the annoying thing, I've made plenty of DL bookings in the past, did nothing different, and had the miles credited to VS.

Just checked and my VS Flying Club number is definitely posted on my DL account.

On hold with DL now.....
