Off to MCO on 2 May on VS15 and back from MCO on 23 May flying PE both ways.
Booked seats outbound getting D & E although we refer A& C or H & K.

Coming back we have been unable to book seats together, with only 1 seat showing as available on PE. Mrs Red is getting concerned that we either won't be able to sit together or possibly even get on the flight. We can do twilight checkin for outbound and are close enough to Downtown Disney for being there reasonably early.

Can any body indicate likelihood of being able to sit together and also changing seats at checkin to get A & C or H & K? What is typical percentage release for online checkin vs airport check in?

Thanks

Mike

Don't know whether it's still true, but it always used to be the case that a sizeable block of PE seats on the LGW/MAN routes were blocked out for Virgin Holidays. Any they didn't require were released for general consumption a few days before OLCI opened.

So there's a good chance more seats will become available, although no guarantee that you'll get A&C or H&K. They're the most popular seats and with seat selection for your flights having been open for several months, many people will have beaten you to it.

I'm afraid the downside of getting rid of the T-90 rule last year is that those not lucky enough to be able to book 11 months in advance when flights go on sale now have far less chance of getting good seats.

I've not kept up with all the seating changes )so this may not be the current situation) but VS only used to release 60% if seats for advance selection with the bulk of the rest released once OLCI has opened ( i.e. once VS has sat people with special needs and those needed bassinet positions etc) so I'd have a look when OLCI opens.

I am in a similar position, flying out to MCO on 18 April back on 3 May in PE.

Outbound I managed to secure H & K but there's nothing together for the return. I rang FC and they said there was plenty of availability but all pre-bookable seats had been taken and to wait until online check-in.

Not the ideal scenario but they were adamant there was nothing they could do to help.

We were in a similar position about 4 years ago when we booked a very last minute trip to Jamaica and no PE seats were shown as being available to pre book. Our TA recommended we do OLCI at exactly 24 hours before because more seats would be released and sure enough we were able to get our favourite 79A & C (sadly no longer there on the LGW 747s). So be ready at 23 hours and 59 seconds!
