On the 28th I started the annual search for reward tickets to and from Dubai for our yearly Christmas trip.

To my utter amazement 4 Upper Class seats were available on the 17th of December. The question was do we take the girls out of school for their final half day before the Christmas break? That decision took almost a nano second, not that they are doing anything at school that week anyway! all 4 nabbed ^) ^)
Two weeks go by waiting for the return flights to load, suddenly two Upper's appear which I grab for my wife and youngest daughter, major gold stars achieved from them however my eldest daughter was less than impressed! Another month goes by checking twice a day 1 premium pops up grabbed for my eldest still not overly impressed with her Mum and Sister being up front! Still no return for me could I grab a few extra nights on my own in the winter sunshine ): ? would I dare do that to my fantastic family? Off course I wouldn't as a Premium seat popped up today all of us safely booked in, the great team at UC bookings linked all the bookings and made sure we were sitting together in the seats I wanted. Happy days just need to keep checking for two more Upper Seats to pop up.

So summing up, stick with it as the flights are there if you keep looking don't be scared to phone up as you don't get if you don't ask. Good Luck everyone.

Rewards availability is a real black art from a consumer point of view.

I wanted to change some UC bookings I have in May and so for about 3 weeks I was checking availability several times a day and only on a few occasions were the same dates shown between checks, but if you stick with it, as the OP has done, you will tend to find what you want
