Guess Im a little lost on why the opening date is such a secret if it's to open in the next couple of weeks?

I assume VS don't want to announce a date until they're sure they'll make it. I think it's safe to say there'll be plenty of publicity when they're ready

One might assume they would need a week or so for soft openings/test runs/ staff training, so if they don't know now, 2 weeks out, if they will make it or not, then missing the opening date is the least of their problems.
btw Craig Kreeger is still quoted on:

saying "In April, we will be opening a Clubhouse in Los Angeles for the first time."

They may be waiting for the 787 to launch on the VS7/8 before they open the CH - that way they get a double publicity hit.

But, if it's true that delivery of G-VYUM is behind schedule, who knows when that'll be.

I'm in the Virgin America loft (boo) waiting for the 8 to London. I've been told it's 10 days today it opens - 29 - Apr - but that's a secret too. It's going to be in the old Air France space in T2
