Just a random question or three. I booked my seats for next April's TATL flights. I had not realised VS had finally sorted their ASB software at long last y)

Having read various "Best Seats" threads I noted Row 6 on a 747 came out repeatedly as "good" but on the LHR 747 flight we are on (outbound, day flight) Rows 1-5 are in the bubble and 12+ downstairs. There is no Row 6! Have they changed the seat configurations ?| Is Row 12 the new Row 6 :?

I have booked 12A and 12K at the front of the pointy end downstairs. On BA these seats are blocked for Golds. I assume that is not the case on VS? Or will we be turfed out should some VIP demand they sit there (or more likely a VS employee?!)?

On the return we are on a A330-300 (night flight) so I chose 4K and 5K.

Right at the pointy bit are 6A and K on LGW 747 and 12A and K on LHR 747. The times we've managed to get 12A and K ahead of time it has never been suggested that we should move for a DYKWIA.

Nothing's changed - row 6 is the front row in the nose on the LGW 747 fleet, while row 12 is the corresponding row on the LHR fleet.

VS don't reserve any rows for AUs so no, you shouldn't be turfed out.

Note that these two seats are very close - you literally are playing footsie with your seatmate - so ideal for a couple but maybe not so much for business colleagues.

I don't think SRB boots anyone out so what's OK for him should be OK for anyone else.

Mind he does have two suites next to each other - one for sitting and one for sleeping.

On one flight he had the pleasure of having Honey Lamb for company and she graciously allowed him to sign the book she was reading (mind it was his book!)

Thanks all. I doubt we shall being playing footsie but being in close proximity will be just fine ;)

We secured 2A & 2K on out BA flights later this year, but are hoping no BA Au card holders nab 1A & 1K so we can move forward, though I have read some post on FT saying row 2 is prefernetial. I shall be happy in either I am certain :)

No it wasn't! It was "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest". He had a copy of it too on the flight.

He signed the book I was reading when sat across from him on the flight to Antigua in 2004. I remember well as it was our honeymoon flight :-)
