We are all so excited to have 4 seats ex Dublin to Orlando on hold in upper class. Could anyone tell me if they found the seats claustrophobic and what seats would be best to have the feeling of space thank you flower tonic.

Hi,

It depends on your aircraft as to which seats I would recommend over any others.

What flight are you on and when.

That should be a 747. Best UC cabin in the fleet - just 14 seats in the nose - feels very private.

The seats are all the same size and, yes, some do find them claustrophobic due to the high dividers between each one. Note that due to the curvature of the aircraft, the further back you go the further apart they are across the aisle (so 6A & 6K are almost touching - great for couples -whereas 12A & 12K are acres apart).

If I were you I'd try for 6A, 6K, 7A & 7K as they'll keep the four of you within easy chatting distance of each other. Failing that try for four in a row eg 7A, 8A, 9A & 10A. Rows 11 & 12 are close to the bar which some find annoying although 12A & 12K benefit from only having one next door neighbour.

To be honest, though, there's no bad seat in that cabin and I think you'll be happy wherever you sit.

I worried about the same thing when we did our 1st upper class last August. There were 4 of us and we sat in 6 and 7 and they were great seats. We could all chat easily but were quite private as well.

You shouldn't find it claustrophobic. Personally we don't like the pointy end, but prefer the wider part nearer the bar. Have a read of a few trip reports and check out as many photos as you can find. Whatever choice you make I'm sure you will love it.

Thank you to all off you I will let you all know what seats we get. We will be booking with the flight centre so I expect we may have to wait. As long as we are going to be in upper class it doesn't matter.

Whoever you book with, get the 6 digit booking Ref, then you can check online for the seat map and see the cabin, and request your seats.

We travel as a couple only and go for 6A & 6K
With 4 of you there may be better choices but I think I would go for row 6 and 7 which will give you an nice little area at the front of the cabin all to yourselves. I would describe it as cosy rather than claustrophobic.
