Just logged into my booking to find that the timings of VS206 and VS207 have been changed - not sure when this kicks in but my flights are in November.

Typically the revised LHR departure messed up my connection so I've just had to pay BA to jump on the earlier flight :(

New timings :-
LHR-HKG Dep 2040 arr +1 1615
HKG - LHR Dep 2355 arr +1 0450

I don't seem to have received any notification from Virgin about the change so it's lucky I checked as the availability of my flight to LHR was getting low >-(

Just found the same on MMB for my DXB VS400 & VS401, booking for October. Although the flights were only moved to 10 & 15 minutes earlier. I too have received no notification of the change.

Sounds like tweaks to the winter timetable - standard airline practice twice a year as provisional slots are firmed up (JetBlue have just done the same to me).

VS will (or should) inform you, assuming you booked direct with them and they have your correct contact details. You normally have to agree to the changes in MMB before it lets you do anything. If you booked via a travel agent or a third party site like Expedia, it's up to them to tell you once the airline's informed them.

However they stagger sending out the emails/texts, prioritising them in order of departure date, to avoid being swamped with calls which would be the inevitable consequence of telling tens or hundreds of thousands of people at the same time.

As for messing up connections, they should be changed at no extra cost if they're on the same PNR. If they're not ... well that's the risk you take. Airline schedules change constantly.

I've just received two notifications from Expedia with regard to my forthcoming trip ex-AMS to South Africa

The first one was to inform me that my flight LGW-AMS would arrive in AMS five minutes later than scheduled. I'm sure seasoned readers of V-Flyer will know why this bothers me not one jot!
;-)

The second was to tell me that my outbound flight LHR-JNB was leaving 30 minutes later and arriving 20 minutes later. Fortunately there is sufficient stopover time before my onward flight which is on a different PNR. Similarly my return flight from JNB arrived in LHR 15 minutes earlier which means more Revivals time :D

Obviously the airlines are tweaking their winter schedules depending on slots/changes of aircraft/cessation of flights by other airlines and other factors.

Yep, BA have just done a whole raft of schedule changes as well. 'Tis obviously the season.

Anyone with tightish ex-EU itineraries planned after the end of Oct may want to check - my DUB-LHR's been brought forward 15 mins.

Yes, brilliantly after I switched my BA flight to LHR yesterday to give me 4 hours connection time, overnight I got an email from BA saying the flight I had switched onto was now departing 3 hours later than advertised, and was actually now later than the flight I was originally on! Sorted it all with a phone call and now got just under 3.5 hours in LHR which won't leave me with a huge amount of Clubhouse time.

Had notification from BA yesterday of change to my BA flight to DUB from LHR in December but nothing from Expedia yet about the return back to LHR from DUB scheduled for a few hours later. I think they moved them both by 10 minutes so no problems there.

Just checked my flight to SFO on 27 Dec and discovered an aircraft change, when I booked it was a B747, it then went to B787 (so had a quick juggle of seats) now it's gone to A346 (think i'll leave the seats alone until nearer the day in case it switches back to a B787 as I had 5A & 6A whch look pretty good). That only leaves an A330 that they haven't tried yet, sorry to see Little Red going but could be a blessing the way VS are going through plane changes I could have been heading to SFO on an A320 :-D

I would strongly recommend anyone with a booking after the end of October checks their itinerary.

Just found out my VS25 in Nov has been cancelled and I've been rebooked on the VS9 four hours earlier. Wiping out virtually all my Clubhouse time as the connection from my DUB flight is now 1'50" instead of 5'30". >-(

At least it's now a 747 and they've put me in the nose (although the seat map's unavailable). And I guess I get into JFK at a decent hour. Still, annoying.

I've had something similar: VS104 (ATL to LHR) is now 15 minutes later, while on a December trip a DL Connection connecting flight has moved to DL mainline (switching from a CRJ700 to a B717).

At least its not an MD88 again...
