I'm after your advice guys, my sister booked a holiday with Virgin holidays to Florida for October 2015 (she booked it last year Sept 2014).

She paid to reserve her seats as I advised her to be in the bubble. She booked and paid for these seats in February 2015.

She has read on another forum that any holidays booked before November 2014 and exempt from the £25 fee for booking seats.
She has rang Virgin to query this today and they have told her that you have to book to pay for your seats up until 60 days before your holiday, then its free??? I thought that T-60 had been scrapped and you had to pay for your seats regardless now.

She has had to pay £25 each way for herself, husband and 7 year old daughter so in total £150.00.

Can any one verify the rules for me please?

Hi,

I presume in paying for this, that Virgin guarantee that the seats are together?? Seen on VA's twitter feed that they cannot guarantee any seat reservations made on line will be the same once you check in. I am flying UC in two weeks and queried this as I have two seats booked together??

They are requests, and can always be changed for "operational reasons". Aircraft can change at short notice, seats can go wrong and be taken out of service (particularly in UC) or they may move people to accommodate babies, disabled pax or parents who need to sit with children.

An economy passenger who'd paid for a seat reservation could claim a refund if they were moved. For everyone else, tough.
