currently on the arinc wifi on DXB-LHR, normally i wouldn't be online but need to do some work stuff as i go on hols friday and want to be 100% offline from-work for the duration

feels like a huge difference vs. the outbound sense of meh a few days ago

limo pickup to the airport, same driver as on arrival, was recognised by the one of the VS staff who came for a chat while i waited for check-in to open

onboard, lots of bubbly, no delay on refills, i think i may have got through a bottle so far, AU welcome and chat from the FSM, pleasant meal, my faith in VS restored

on the bubbly front, i've developed the theory that the gardet is ok as long as you do not precede it with lanson, hic, oh, and it really clashes with fresh grapes

will do a TR later, better get back to the grindstone now, then a zzzzz for a while

Waves back from a wet and windy Kent. No bubbly - just coffee here.

Enjoy the rest of your flight and hope your work doesn't suffer from lack of Lanson !! :D

Sounds like my kind of work trip...unfortunately not my employer's, who currently have me in line for another 12 hour borefest in Y to Sao Paulo. :-D

Not sure about the kitten reference though...

ah, "pull up a kitten" is an old b3ta saying, denoting warmth, welcome and a sense of fluffiness

btw b3ta is on the "no, you can't look at this from here" list of many networks, aside from a deep affection for kittens etc., the humour can be brutal/tasteless

virgin once tried using b3ta for a contest, but b3tans tend to push back on any attempt by the site to become commercially entangled, usually resulting in the advertiser/sponsor getting a savaging, the virgin contest didn't end well...
