I am sure it has been mentioned before here, but just can not spot it.

I have my last Virgin Flight in December before I move over to the dark side. I have 3 booking already paid for with BA and will book two more that will easily give me my Silver BA card.

My question. I am a gold member with Virgin now, since I can show the BA bookings for next year. Is there, any chance BA will status match to silver or even bronze as that will make it even half way?

You could try but I wouldn't hold my breath. http://www.statusmatcher.com/ tracks which programme will status match and BAEC seem to only offer it for high volume F passengers or corporate clients.

It might be worth doing something like the Alitalia match so you can make use of your Virgin Gold before it expires. You never know when you might fly SkyTeam in the future.

BA are very unlikely to match status, you would have better luck trying to get a status match from another OneWorld carrier, the benefits are the same, e.g. lounge access if you get Sapphire OW status (Same as BA Silver)

Having unsuccessfully tried to status match my Gold VA to BAEC, I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you! Having had a recent disastrous CW experience with lost bags in EWR BA are out of favour with me anyway. They promised every day for 4 days that my bag would arrive & wouldn't sanction any purchases of replacement clothes on that basis. Now I'm home they're saying I should have gone ahead & bought items as they would have covered a few hundred pounds especially as a "premium" passenger. They won't offer any compensation in £s or Avios - shame on you BA

Did your travel insurance not cover you for essential purchases when luggage is "lost"?

Hope you got everything back eventually? 4 days is a long time to wait.
