Has anyone had any experience of using the No 1 Lounge in T3. Have read lots of reviews with both good and bad comments.
Looking to arrive around 5pm on a Thursday evening early March. Wondering whether that would be busy due to "rush hour" or not.
Booking direct with Virgin is the cheapest option out there.
Just wondering whether or not its worth it ??

Worth checking out this thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=290704 :)

I'll copy my post because I'm lazy:

I've used it a number of times in the past, and I'd say it's very good. You get three hours which you can fill fairly easily.

Facilities wise it's nice and clean, plenty of seating, a games room, showers and a spa. I've not used the spa myself but the showers were very nice. Food wise - choice is a little limited. I've only ever been there for breakfast so I can't comment much on the lunch offerings, but whilst the choice was limited (and you only get one free selection) it was very tasty. There was a breakfast buffet out as well with cereals, pastries, cheeses and meats - again, whether there is a lunch equivalent I'm not sure. Bar was well stocked too. I'd definitely recommend it if the CH is not an option and you can't access any other lounges. There's also a decent view out of the window onto the tarmac too!

Here's the food from my last 2 trips there.

Both were really, really tasty but a bit small for me. There's a self-service area with soup, rolls, nuts, pastries and suchlike which kept me going. A very pleasant place to spend some time.

As to whether it's worth it, I don't know because I visit using the Priority Pass from the Amex Plat so it doesn't cost me a thing. If I was paying my own money for it I might occasionally consider a restaurant in the terminal to be better value.

We went into the lounge last Saturday and found it to be very good. This was my second visit and find it a very good way to start off the holiday. When I booked, I managed to get a good deal for us all, including a glass of champagne - when I redeemed the 5 vouchers last week for the Champagne I tried to hand the bar staff the vouchers and they didn't want them. I did the honourable thing and gave a couple of the vouchers to a couple sat next to us, they duly did the same, got their champagne and returned with the vouchers and gave back to me. So, if anyone would like 5 Champagne vouchers for any No.1 Lounge, let me know and I will pop them in the post for you.
