Hi

New member here ( well I say new, I registered years go but this is my first post). When flying with VA I've always flown from Manchester living in Sheffield or for other long haul utilised KLM and changed in Amsterdam. However Ive booked onto a LHR-PVG with Virgin and am just wondering how different the 787 are from the 747 and A330 used in Manchester . Im struggling to work out where passengers board from and wether or not you can board last in UC . This was never a problem at MAN however I didn't know if using the clubhouse would affect this in anyway. On the subject of the clubhouse what would everyone recommend to eat, see and do on a first visit there.

Thanks

Hello and welcome...

I think you board from the rear of the UC cabin, and the calls in the CH are timed generally so that you will be boarding late / last.

As to the CH itself...

1. If you want a treatment head for the spa desk first thing and get booked in
2. For food, I'd go for the English tapas menu supplemented by trips to the deli bar, but it depends how long you have.
3. There isn't that much to "see and do" in the CH, though there is a pool table and the swinging chairs are fun. Relaxation and posting "Hello from the Clubhouse" messages to make other V-Flyers jealous are mandatory.

Welcome to V-Flyer :-)

As soon as you arrive in the Clubhouse, head to the spa booking desk where you book your treatments / haircuts etc.

Also do pay a visit to the outdoor patio area. That is a a nice hidden little gem IMHO as not many people seem to know it's there. It's fantastic if the weather is nice.

Head up the white stair case next to the Brasserie through the loft area (which in itself is a nice peaceful area to sit; the wait staff will quite happily keep you fed and watered up there too if it's open), turn right and head up some more stairs and through the door.
