I was checking with VS regularly over the last few months for reward availability on an upgrade back from Shanghai (outbound already UC).
Alas nothing showed up, however on checking revenue costs yesterday I noticed a peculiar oddity that PE was showing up as LESS than Y. I called VS - little bit of keyboard tapping, hold music and callbacks later, I was quoted £151 for both of us to upgrade (without miles). I was also told I'd get the £80 back we paid for the extra legroom seats, so all in all it will cost us £35 each! Bargain - I think?
We are travelling with family but they are flying on different dates a few days out. When they checked theirs it would cost them almost £600 extra each... That's the airline lottery for you
