amex gold card lounge pass

I know amex gold card has changed some of its perks since I last had one, but can someone confirm for me about the lounge club access. did you use to get a free pass for a guest? and know you dont?

I can't find anything other than 2 complimentary visits. can you use this for you and a guest.

AFAIK you can use the 2 comp passes for yourself and a guest. After they're used longe entry is charged to your gold Amex.

does anyone know if you can pre book lounge access with the lounge card? or is it based on the chance system?
