Quick question.

LGW-MCO (Return) for two people in UC is 200,000 miles.

I have enough for this, but want the cheapest (money) cost way of doing it.

It will be for our honeymoon and money will be tight but still want the best experience.

Is it cheapest to spend the 200k and then the taxes, or is there a cheaper money way of doing it, such as pay for Y and upgrade with miles overall?

Thanks for any help :)

Full reward fare are the cheapest. Especially now they have upped the number of miles required for upgrades.
We paid £598 for the LGW-MCO leg and £568 to come home from Atlanta. Thats for two of us on full reward fares in Upper.
It also gives you the advantage that you can book each leg separately so you don't have to wait for the return date to be issued to grab an outbound if it becomes available.

Trouble is, it's a very busy route with only 14 Upper seats so only a few rewards seats available.

We have managed it a few times, but this year when booking for next Feb out March back we bagged two outbound G's but then nothing seemed to be opening for the return. We are lucking in that we drive up to South Carolina so we managed to get a couple of G's back from Atlanta.

Best of luck with it and have a great honeymoon.
