After an absence of a couple of years, we finally caved in and went to a Virgin card and earned 2 AMEX PE vouchers, still not sure this is a such a great deal as it isn't really an upgrade, but a discounted miles purchase as you pay tax at the PE rate.

Anyhow, phoned the FC to book a couple of flights to NYC and got what can only be described as the least helpful, condescending lady on the phone. She was unhelpful, rude and refused to listen at all and constantly talked over me. I explained I didn't like her attitude and would call back when somebody helpful was available.

I called back 30 mins later and got to talk to *******, he was amazing. We explained our situation and he explained all the options and what the best options are, as a result we now have booked to go UC as he worked his magic on the system :-)

He was a credit to the FC, the only bit of bad news for them and the good news for us is that he passed his training and is switching to Cabin Crew from September, a big loss for the FC, but if he continues his customer service on board, I hope he is on our flight to New York !

At the very least feed the gripes you have back to Crawley Towers, otherwise the problem will never get sorted.

It's probably just really bad luck. I've called them countless times and never had anyone who was even slightly off hand with me. By far the best customer service team I've dealt with.

That's a shame you had a bad experience the first time. I've only called them twice and had someone call me once however each time they have been brilliant.

Glad you managed to get yourself booked into UC! Take it that means you've still got your PE upgrade vouchers to use though!

I'm not sure how it all works, but we ended up using 1 PE voucher but we still have the second one to use.

I'm sure it's a matter of personal taste, as blindman said he managed to upsell us a product we didn't plan for, however at an increase price of just under £200 for 2 of I don't think we have been seen off :-)
