Hi everyone. I'm new member to V-Flyer but certainly not new to Virgin :D I've travelled with Virgin many a time but this time, for the first time ever, I'm splurging and treating myself and my partner to Upper Class.
We are flying to St Lucia from Gatwick next November and was wondering if there was any advice for a Clubhouse and Upper Class newbie? Is there restrictions to entry to the clubhouse I.e opening times, what clothes can you wear? How to make the most of the clubhouse?
When onboard with a returning night flight I've heard about night sleeping suits, can you keep these? Where's the best seat with the NEW A330 configure. Already looked online and it won't be the herringbone design.
Hope you guys can answer some of my questions or advise me accordingly. Many Thanks

Hello and welcome.

The Gatwick Clubhouse has traditionally opened between 6 and 6.30 am. There will be a new Gatwick Clubhouse at the end of January 2017 as Virgin move to the North terminal, so some specifics may change (e.g. best place to sit). Hopefully the staff will still continue to give everyone the warm welcome they have in the past. As to specifics, get there early, book a treatment, sit back and relax. As to clothes, there is no dress code. Wear what makes you feel comfortable.

Yes

As yet a little unknown as the no-one has experienced the new configuration yet. It's understood the D seats are to go, so the A side will give the most privacy as you won't be facing anyone across the aisle. As I understand it, it will be herringbone, just 3 across (as on the 340 and 787) rather than the 4 across which proved so unpopular and is now being undone.

Have a great time planning and when the trip rolls around. Look out for TRs post January that will give reports on the new CH and the new seating arrangements on the 330.

By the time you fly there will no doubt be a few Trip Reports on here giving an idea what the new clubhouse will be like.
The current Gatwick CH has several different seating areas including some that are relatively private.
We tend to get there early as we go to the airport the night before and stay in a hotel. We skip the hotel breakfast and go straight to the CH.
I seem to recall they ask if you have been before and if not give you a run down on what facilities are available.

As to sleep suits; definitely take them home, even if you haven't worn them on the plane. They make great overalls when it comes time to do the decorating.
