When do Virgin Atlantic "seasons" change ?

On the "wonderful" new Virgin Atlantic website the standard and peak seasons are listed from Jan 16th 2017 to Dec 31st 2017. As I'm going to be attempting to book reward seats for JFK - LHR for 1st Jan and 4th Jan 2018 it would be very useful to know what season those dates fall into.

I've called the FC twice today and both ladies were very friendly but were unable to confirm exactly happens after 31st Dec 2017.

Can anyone in "the know" if indeed there is anyone tell me what happens after Dec 31st 2017 i.e what day in January 2018 the season changes from peak to standard.

They haven't announced the dates for 2018 yet but given the Christmas peak starts as early as December 13th I'd be amazed if January 1st & 4th aren't classed as peak.

Multiple websites suggest "Peak dates include: March 31 – April 18, 2017; June 22 – September 06, 2017; December 13 – January 3, 2018", such as headsforpoints and onemileatatime.

So, as Gumshoe says the 1st January looks likely to be peak - but you might get away with the 4th as being standard.

Problem is, of course, it's hard to know what/where those websites used as a source for those dates as there doesn't seem to be clear guidance on the dates on Virgin's own website where it simply says "31st March to 18th April 2017, 22nd June to 6th September 2017, 13th December to 31st December 2017." at the moment when you open up the reward tab on http://www.virginatlantic.com/in/en/fly ... ewardseat1 which suggests 1st January could be standard too!
