Apologies if this is answered elsewhere, but I haven't found it if it is!
I'm travelling to LAX, PE on 28/02. I've been having a mooch at fightstats / flightaware etc over the last few days just looking at the punctuality of this flight and I've noticed that although the flight is scheduled for some days, the data then never then appears , as if the flight just never happened. Am I missing something obvious? I thought VS23 was a daily flight, so does this mean that the flight was cancelled?
If so, is there anyway to tell how busy my flight is to get an idea of whether it will operate? I'm only going for 5 nights, so really don't want to get moved to another flight :(

Looking at the flight schedules, there are quite a few days in Feb & Mar when VS only operate just 1 daily flight to LAX instead of 2 during the Winter season (VS run 3 daily flights to LAX over the Summer seasons now). I guess it's down to low loads. It's often the VS23 that not operating, though a couple of days the VS23 is the only flight running.

If VS did cancel the VS23, I would think they will just put you on the earlier VS7 flight instead.

For reasons other than weather or a tech issue the latest would be 14 days before (after that they are in EU 261 compensation territory).

Generally they have a good idea of loads and will cancel a pair if flights months in advance - remember they have to consider the people doing the journey in reverse not just leaving the UK. It could be lightly load outbound but rammed on the way back.

You can get load info from sites such as expert flyer but that will only tell you how many tickets VS are still prepared to sell which is not the same as how busy the flight is.
