Hello Friends!!!
I was just casually going through my phone in boredom and up popped a little satus from 2 years ago.
It brought back some memories and the blackout that happened afterwards!
2 years ago we were nursing very very bad hangovers after meeting Joeyc and Blacky (with the kids) in NYC! Time is just flying by!!
Hope all you guys are ok!
I’ve sort of defected to the dark side...but the grass hasn’t been greener! I’m due a VS flight, December seems likely as we have miles to use!

Two years ago we were packing for a trip to South Carolina.
Today, we are packing for a trip to South Carolina. Three cases done, one to go.
There is a bottle of Bollinger in the fridge to start the holiday at the airport hotel.
2 years ago I think it was Lanson Black label.

Two years ago I was living vicariously through everyone’s posts waiting for my holiday to start in May, a trip to SFO & LAS. I remember the posts about you all meeting up and getting somewhat inebriated lol.

Like you we have defected to some degree as the “other side” has a wider network, although we flew VS in the autumn to SEA. Nothing booked with VS this year, and saving a few more miles, which I’m still collecting, but no plans in the making... yet.

Hello y'all. Long time, no visit to V-flyer.
Hope you are all well.

We are still enjoying our trips but now we have the dogs we are spending more time holidaying in the UK. And enjoying them as much as our overseas jaunts!

We are off to Vancouver and a remote part of Vancouver Island in a few weeks and then Japan next year to attend the Sapporo Snow Festival and explore Hokkaido. All with BA. We don't collect VA miles these days but do have enough left for a trip to Boston for a New England Leaf Peeping tour, likely 2019.

Take care everyone & happy travels.

2 years ago we'd just returned from our last VS flights from Barbados. I do still check-in here to see what's going on and to read the TR's and waves from lounges around the globe.

Like others we have defected to the dark side, mostly because of route availability and the much cherished 2-4-1. We've managed several trips in CE, CW and F, some paid, some 'free'. We do have a pot of VS miles but they are spread across 3 accounts and since the changes it isn't as easy to use them all for something decent. Maybe next year we may think of using them.....

Close enough to sneak in on the thread hopefully, it was 2 years and 2 days ago I got a last minute nicely priced £1533.97 deal booked from BRU to LAS (via LHR/LGW) with a BA business/VS upper combo both ways for first two weeks in March of 2016 .... thanks to the many tips on the v-flyer forum and the ex-EU thread Colord started back in 2014. So I'm guessing that 2 years ago I was still smiling about my good fortune (before probably losing a fortune in Vegas a couple of weeks later?)

I do seem to recall reading about the Ultreen1, Joeyc and Blacky planned exploits in NYC at the time but can't find the thread .... aha, getting better at searching, found mention of it http://v-flyer.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=292309 that now prompts a question

We landed more or less on schedule after a few bumps across the atlantic, immigration and customs was quick and I made it into Manhattan in time to meet up with Blacky1 and Ultreen1 (found out how that name came about too... ha ha ha ha ha, oh Darren..)

..... so is the story of Darren's moniker repeatable or staying a secret :-)

According to Google, this day exactly two years ago was a Sunday, so I was at home. At some point during that day I walked to Morrisons and back.

Going to buck the trend and say that I have not turned to BA and still fly VS. I have a backlog of some four TRs to write. Last week I redeemed my companion voucher from gold renewal to take my girlfriend on her first ever long haul flight, to Shanghai in Premium Economy to spend ten days in China.

Lol, so nice to see you all still haunt the forum!
I have a confession...I think I mixed up my dates! It’s definitely 2 years, well almost 2 years, I think I’m a few days out...if this was on flyertalk talk I would have been “hung, drawn and quartered” for tha mix up.
I have a TR R R, for the trip over already written! I need to post it for y’all! I might even have pictures!

My nickname/alias/monicker...well, you need to hear the story in person! :-D

To quote the Minister of Magic (hope you get the reference) “he’s back!”
Good to see you drop by and hope both of you are well, and of course the dogs. Although we’ve twice been to Victoria now, we’ve never made it to anywhere else on Vancouver Island as it’s so finicky to get to. No transit system so you’ve got to hire a car (which my OH won’t let me do), or take a float plane, unless you’ve found another way.

We’re focused at present on what is our first cruise, and I’ve been lurking on cruising forums (there’s a pun there I’m sure).

Anyway, best wishes to both.

Oh, and for Darren... I think we need the story.

:-D I do get the reference! Glad to hear you are well and setting off on your first cruise. Chris is not at all good on the water so that's a no-no for us. The ferry to VI is bad enough!

I enjoy the driving in other countries. We will even be driving around Hokkaido next winter. I drove all around Iceland in October- that was an adventure and a half and had such a fantastic time.

I shall try and pop by here again sometime next year ;-)

Appears a secret for the moment Tim, perhaps in another two years ;-)
