LGW CLUBHOUSE , Will I depart................ so far so go

HI all , currently in Lgw Clubhouse . I actually arrived at 5.30am at the airport , as today and tomorrow are predicted to be the worst day to travel !!!

Well , looking out onto the runway is cloudy, not snowing at the moment, what I find interesting is that, easy jet has been , taking off plane after plane. Just waiting when my virgin flight takes off .........

Had the same stress on Tuesday but all OK despite the pilot doing a visual inspection for ice on the wings before take off which was unusual.
We did have an 80 minute delay but now in Barbados where no snow is expected this week.

The pilot checking for ice on the wings is a normal procedure completed before every flight.

Nothing unusual at all about that.

I believe the poster meant the pilot went to the midsection of the plane and checked the wings from within the aircraft. Unusual but does happen.

That is very unusual - an up close and personal inspection from on the wing itself.

Think the last time I saw someone walking on the wing was when SRB did one of his publicity stunts years ago & he was on the wing of a 747 carrying Kate Moss.

Was the clubhouse open at 0530? Is that the normal opening time?
