I noted that VS (and BA) have been taking 787s out of service because of engine problems. VS seems to be championing the new 330-200 planes but i note they don't have PE and not sure how they compare to VSs other planes.

I'm planning a special trip later in the year to NY, saved up nearly 500k miles and there seems to be Gs available for the dates I want for 2/3 people. (I'll wait or the next sale to buy UC tickets for the other 2).

The flights i'm looking at there and back to NY are on a 789. That's great but I was just wondering what chance they would have of being pulled? I'd be happy being on a refurbished 330 or 340 at a push but not the 330-200. Months i'm looking at are Oct/Nov.

Any advice always appreciated. :-D

If you are flying from/to LHR, you should be fine as the A330-200's are not going anywhere near LHR. They are op-ing flights on the MAN and LGW routes only.

New York flights are always a mix of 789’s, A333 and A346 aircraft depending on loads/days of the week.
