Rob AKA Raffles from Head for Points posted this in response to a comment on this post Amex to open centurion lounge at LHR T3

I was meant to have a 7.30am meeting with Virgin this morning, luckily it got cancelled! At a lunch with Craig Kreeger, the Virgin Atlantic CEO, at noon. Meant to be getting the details on the new VS Upper Class seat on the A332s within the hour. Rhys down in Crawley discussing the party. No peace today!

So we knew the A332s (the ex Air Berlins) were getting new seats but not what sort of seat it is. Looks like we won't have to wait very long!

As you may have seen on Business Traveller by now, and will see on HFP tomorrow, Virgin has only supplied the media with photos so soft-focussed they may not even be photos and could be CGI :-)

We were due to see the plane this morning as it was due to operate BGI at 10.10. The scheduled Dubai flight yesterday went tech, however, so it put onto that and our tour was obviously cancelled.

And, before anyone asks, Kreeger didn't say anything revelatory in his lunch speech at The Aviation Club today. Straight afterwards he was dashing to his citizenship ceremony - he has decided to spend his retirement being British!

PS. It will also be revealed tomorrow that Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Money have jumped in at the last minute to sponsor the Head for Points Christmas Party next week, so anyone with a ticket will now get a free drink on VS.

No idea what they are planning given the short notice (I know that sounds odd as it is my party but that's how it goes!) - I think they are searching the cupboards in Crawley for interesting giveaways etc. I am told a decent number of senior people will be long but I don't know who. If Mr Kerzner turns up he can be grilled on the new A350 seat!
