We are flying to New York next week in Upper, What is the wifi on the A330? Can you use the free Boingo that comes with the Virgin credit card? and if you can get wifi, can you stream live sports on it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Cath

The WiFi on the A333's is run by GoGo and so you can't log on to that using you Boingo account unfortunately.

I believe it's only the B789 T-Mobile based system where you can use your Boingo account.

You are not supposed to be able to stream anything on any of the onboard systems either sorry.

Yep Boingo on the Dreamliner, my account worked fine on recent flight to LAX, just find the iOS initial network selection and login page for the wifi can be a pain. If you have Boingo then you need to dig out the roaming link off the footer of the T-Mobile hotspot page

On the GoGo system the price has now gone up for the Wifi Max package to £20.99. That feels very steep now!

It's not cheap for sure, but I guess they work on the assumption that many people will be using the employers credit card.

I've always found the GoGo system to be very good and have managed to stream on it no problem. (BBC iPlayer via a VPN & YouTube videos in HD).
