baggage check in

i want to spend as much time i could in the clubhouse
i need to know the earliest time i could check in my bags on the upper class check in desk in the morning at Hearthrow airport if my flight at 12.40hrs

the answer i wanted is how early can i check my baggage in so then i can go to the clubhouse after security

Whilst they don't advertise it - and it could have changed... you used to be able to check-in at LHR anytime on the day of your VS flight. There were / are more than a few trip reports on here of people on late departures (i.e. HKG) checking-in in the morning, depositing hand luggage at left luggage, then heading into London for the day. They then returned to LHR late afternoon / early evening, retrieved hand luggage and spent a few hours in the Clubhouse before boarding.

There are also a few trip reports on this site where people have spent a very long time in the Clubhouse (i.e. a lot of the day). Very dangerous IMO, with the free booze! At least a trip into London keeps things in check as you're paying when in London.
