Hi
This is probably a stupid question but I will ask anyway. :D We are flying from London to San Francisico on Monday and are excited to be able to finally use the clubhouse and drive through check in. (we normally fly from Manchester). Should we do on line check in or is it better to check in at the airport.?
Also we are staying overnight at the Renaissance hotel, can we just order a taxi in the morning to take us or are we better to pre order a car.? looked at booking a car with virgin which was rarther expensive for such a short journey.

Thank you

1. Yes you should do OLCI and complete the APIS data as it helps speed the process. Have your passports handy to give to the staff

2. Yes just order a taxi. You don't need to inform VS of the registration number. At the entrance to the DTCI ramp the driver will need to give your names and flight number

We did this a few weeks ago, using London Heathrow Cars. Just shy of £20 from the Hilton at T4 in a very smart Merecedes.

We stayed at the Renaissance on the night of 3rd April before flying UC to SanFrancisco.

When we arrived at the hotel, we asked the ‘Transport Services’ guy, who was positioned just on the left inside the hotel entrance, to arrange a taxi for the morning. We went down at arranged time of 8am and the driver was waiting.

I actually think they work in partnership with the hotel. Very smart driver (like a chauffeur) and pristine Merc vehicle took us straight to the DTCI. Only takes a few minutes. Cost was £10 and we gave £2 tip.

Check this out before you arrange a local taxi service firm.

Enjoy that experience. Renaissance is very comfortable hotel, with nice bar and restaurant.
