hotel stay

hi all
i fly back to the uk(gatwick ) and land around 9 ish
it there a hotel that i can book for that time in the morning just to have a kip and a shower

There are a few generic search sites (such as dayuse) that pull up these services … these days even the chains like Premier or Holiday Inn offer the service at airport district hotels.

For Gatwick area you can usually grab a room at one of the Copthorne hotels at around the £40 mark - they offer a range of options such as 9am-4pm or 10am-6pm (what you're looking for?) or 3pm to 10pm. If it's a 'survive at the airport before connecting flight' you are looking for then the Bloc at the South Terminal do a 9am to 4pm rate around the £40 mark too.
