Hello from the LHR Clubhouse, where the service has been ‘enhanced’.
For breakfast, hot food can now only be ordered in the Brasserie. Elsewhere there remains a table service for drinks only. The deli counter has been enlarged and now has some hot food to take away. This included wrapped up sausage and bacon rolls. I’m not sure if this is just a change to the morning service or not. The table menus only mention what you can find at the deli for breakfast.

Thanks for the update. I believe this is a permanent change now as it was mentioned in another TR last week.

I'll be there in Saturday morning as well as I'm on the VS3 to JFK.

Have a great flight :)

I was there last week - yes, you have to go to the Brasserie for breakfast rolls/salad platters, etc. We had a sausage and a bacon roll and to be honest, they were just lukewarm and quite dry. Not the service we have come to expect from the Clubhouse! It was also virtually impossible to get anyone to come and serve us drinks. After trying to catch the eye of several servers, I eventually went up to their 'desk' to ask!

Here we go, yet another "enhancement". The Clubhouse has been the saving grace of VS through all the cut backs and economies over the years but it looks like the bean counters have finally got their claws into it.

I would love to know how certain people at VS have retained their jobs over the years, mainly those who handle customer facing product. Look at the debacle of the Dream Suite and then there is the issue with the tables in the new Upper seats, do they actually do ANY proper testing of the products?

Maybe we should open a book on what the next enhancement will be?

Well I’m currently sat in the LHR Clubhouse and TBH the service is absolutely no different to what it always was as far as I’m concerned.

Just eaten breakfast in the Brassiere, which I always do and the table service is now just drinks which again is not different to what it normally is for me.

The service does switch back to the old style ‘eat anywhere’ once the breakfast service finishes.

Just eaten breakfast in the Brassiere

So many jokes come to mind, none of which I feel comfortable uttering in 2019! ;-)

Happy nearly new year, all,

This was my experience also, I think certain posters need to stop fretting over the slightest change in service and screaming about the "bean counters". It's hardly unreasonable to keep table service to certain areas during the busiest hours.

I loved the new Breakfast service when I went through early December. I have actually never sat down at at table to eat in the Clubhouse, so to be almost 'forced' into it if you want the full of eggs benny really worked out well. I was told Virgin have done this because the Clubhouse has become so incredibly busy with added flights and DL passengers that figuring out a system that works was the only solution.

I ate and then headed off to the window where I tend to reside while there.

I have heard a very strong rumour that AA are planning to vacate the space underneath the VS clubhouse and so if that is the case surely it's a no brainer that VS would snap it up without any thought. I sincerely hope this is the case. Would be a fantastic opportunity to really upgrade the current space and create something truly fabulous downstairs.
