I'm flying on VS29 in May and again at the end of October. Both flights are operated by a 747, but May's flight takes 8hr 30 min and October's says it is 9hr 10 min.

Does anyone have any ideas why?

I am hoping and praying they haven't changed it to a drop off service for another island, but the length of time doesn't seem long enough for that.

Strange. I'm on the same flight in September out on 747 and back on A330-200 both around 8hr 30mins. I would say though that even if this was a 'stopping service' which I don't think it will become, I would have 99.9% confidence that Barbados would be the first stop and therefore shouldn't impact your travel time. Generally the Caribbean stopping services land at the more popular destination first which is where the crew change and stay for there layover. (Grenada via St Lucia, Tobago via St Lucia .et).

Also the recent changes with St Lucia being dropped VS stated would result in Tobago and Grenada routes being via Antigua instead, so I really don't think Barbados will have any stops. Are there any clock changes around the dates you are flying that have caused an error on the timing perhaps?

Most flights have longer block times during the winter as adverse weather and winds give longer flight times. The bgi will remain direct
