The slots have been released for next Summer’s flights:
VS75 MAN-MCO D09:20 A14:15 9h55m A330-200
VS76 MCO-MAN D16:10 A05:20 8h10m A330-200
VS73 MAN-MCO D11:20 A16:15 9h55m A330-200
VS74 MCO-MAN D18:15 A07:25 8h10m A330-200
VS91 LHR-MCO D11:20 A16:05 9h45m A330-300
VS92 MCO-LHR D18:10 A07:15 8h05m A330-300
VS135 LHR-MCO D12:05 A17:15 10h10m A330-300
VS136 MCO-LHR D19:20 A08:50 8h30m A330-300

No Glasgow or Belfast flights are showing up yet. Also, the aircrafts will change because the A330-200s are due to be leaving the fleet early next year when the leisure A350s join.

All of the A350s should be in by June. However, based on the number that they have and Virgin stating that they won’t just be flying to Orlando, I think the A350s will only operate on the early flights out of LHR/MAN. I think they will also get MAN-BGI/ISB + LHR-BGI/ANU/ISB routes. I think the A333s will be placed on the later MCO flights.

If you are thinking of booking from MAN to get an A350, VS75/76 would probably be the safest bet.

On this subject, we have a booking with VH but flying out on a Wednesday during May 22 they only have the PM option stating VS75.

We have always flown AM on VS75.... whilst VH is showing earlier flight (on different days as VS73).

Anyway, it seems to be only Wednesday were they do not seem to have 2 flighs at least if booking through VH.

Is this

1. VH do not have slots on the earlier flights?
2. Only 1 flight out on a Wednesday
3. Any other reason?

We are booked in UC and would love to be on the new A350 (if possible).

I would take all the flight times with a pinch of salt at the moment. They always change! For some reason VH always muddle up VS75 and VS73, VS75 is always the early one.

With regards to the number of flights each day, Virgin’s schedule out of Manchester in the summer is normally 12 flights a week. Normally, this would be 2 flights every day except for Wednesday & Friday or Sunday. Most of the time when there is only one flight from Manchester one day is because there will either be a flight from Glasgow or Belfast as one of the Manchester based aircraft is usually shared with Glasgow and/or Belfast.

But as I said, take all the times with a pinch of salt. VH always start with the wrong times and VA are showing flights nearly an hour longer than usual with planes that should have been retired by the time of the flight!

Great thank you for that....

Whilst I am sure it is far too early to tell, when only 1 flight from MAN on a Wednesday would this normally be the AM or PM flight? If AM, should I keep an eye out for a flight time change when the flights are released?

If 1 flight only would they likely keep the A350 on that route, or would that head to GLW/BFS?

I'm currently booked on VS73 on Mon 25th April (via VH) at 10.30AM !

I can see that changing as usually, VS75 is the early flight and VS73 the later one when there's 2.

Most likely the AM flight. Manchester would most likely always get the A350 over GLA/BFS.

Agreed. That time will probably be within an hour of what VS75 will be next year. VS73 could possibly be any time between 11am and 2pm.

And change it did !!!

For my dates (April 25th) VS75 is at 0920 and VS73 is 1120. Back to the normal pattern.

Now trying to change our booking with VH, as we booked VS73 specifically as we wanted the early flight :-)

Interesting that 2022 is still showing MCO from LHR (at the moment). This doesn’t bode well for a return to Gatwick but of course that could all change.

At the other end (MCO) it will be interesting to see if VS end up at the new Terminal C that’s currently being finished. That might, eventually, give space for a clubhouse in the future

Here’s hoping

VH posted the wrong information so you should be able to change with no problems. I always opt for VS75 whatever VH says because this happens every year.

Keep an eye out on the flight times though, there is no way the flights will be 9h55m and the A332s should have been retired by then. The A350s should take the flights back down to 9h. I would expect VS75 to be between 09:45 and 10:15.

I think Virgin will stay out of Gatwick for another 2-3 years to rebuild their services up to make a return to Gatwick financially viable. If they change too early and have to move out again, more staff will loose their jobs.
I’m not sure about whether they will be at Terminal C at Orlando. I think Virgin will be wherever Delta are, so keep an eye out at what Delta do. Let’s hope if they do move to Terminal C we get an Outback Steakhouse and views like we currently get at gate 81!

There is practically zero chance of a Clubhouse appearing in MCO as things stand. Virgin will stay put in Airside 4 with Delta & use the Sky Club for UC passengers / FC Gold. The only way a Clubhouse could happen in MCO would be if Virgin moved to Terminal C - so the Delta FF's could be kept out of the Clubhouse. Let's face it, if you gave anyone with suitable FF status the choice of the Sky Club or a VS Clubhouse, it's obvious what 99% will choose. Virgin is not on the list of alines that will operate from Terminal C when it opens.

Yeah. Your probably right James. Even though it has got better in the last few years, the delta lounge is more akin to an old servisair lounge than a clubhouse :-D

Glasgow to Orlando flights will return from March 2022.
Frequency is 2 weekly flights.
I haven’t seen which aircraft will be operating the flights, but my guess (correct me if I’m wrong) is the A330-300s until all the A350s are operational.

Airside 4 is the dedicated international pier IIRC, so unless the new Terminal C is also geared up for international arrivals and can handle widebody aircraft, I can't see that changing.

As for LHR/LGW, the LHR slots are too valuable for VS to lose. This was probably one of the main factors behind the decision to close the LGW base as the waiver of the 80/20 rule won't last indefinitely. I can only see a return to LGW happening if more lucrative uses for their LHR slots come up in the future and if they are unable to acquire LHR slots. This will depend how the world bounces back as a lot of countries are way behind the UK in terms of vaccination rates and I suspect certain markets are going to be closed well into 2022.

A330-200's on the seat map, all the fare codes are sky high too. I think Virgin Holidays bought out premium economy too.

I'm trying to get March 30th-April 8th for work.
