Hi, all. My husband, sister and her fiancé were due to fly on VS85 this morning. It was cancelled just as we arrived at the airport (meaning they'll miss their wedding tomorrow, sadly).

We have all been rebooked for the VS155 from LHR tomorrow and we got a coach down. My husband is on a companion ticket so he has a separate booking reference to me. In MAN I noticed in my husband's FC account that he has a flight with BA from MAN to LHR this evening. I queried this with the person rebooking our tickets, he said it was a system error and had already been removed. Five hours later we're in London and it's still in his account and is due to leave in three hours, plus he got a check in email from BA. I phoned FC and the agent said she had removed the BA flight and that my husband is definitely ticketed for tomorrow on the VS155. However, half an hour later the BA flight still shows in his account. If he "misses" it, I am concerned they will cancel his onward ticket as they are on the same PNR. Can anyone advise? I am going to call FC again later if it's still there. My husband says I am worrying unnecessarily and I want that to be the case!

I wouldn’t worry. Maybe use the booking reference in the BA check-in e-mail to see if the flight is still visible in the manage my booking section of the BA website? If it cannot find your booking down to LHR anymore then it’s probably systems being systems. If it is there maybe it’s worth calling BA to remove it on their side but either way I wouldn’t worry.

Have you managed to successfully check-in for the 155? If you have then regardless of the BA segment being there or not it shouldn’t cause the VS part to cancel as no-show once you’ve checked in.

Thank you so much, VS0069. The BA booking suddenly started showing on my flight last night, too, so as we were already at a hotel here we popped over to the terminal to ask someone in person. Basically it seems like it was a number of issues, but the long and short of it is we should be fine today. Now we're concerned our luggage won't arrive as apparently there's a huge backlog due to the IT outage on Friday. They've also told people not to arrive more than 3 hours before their flight as LHR is so busy... If they think I'm not taking full advantage of the Clubhouse after the absolute mess so far they've another thing coming :D I think we will use DTCI for the first time as we've never done it before.

Update: it all worked out. We met a lovely guy yesterday at the airport in MAN who was worried this morning as he couldn't check in online on the app or the website. We took him through the Upper Class Wing as our guest and he was checked in, then we got him into the Clubhouse, too. We were given bulkhead seats (much better than the middle row we had to select previously to be together; I didn't mention before but we accepted a downgrade as there were only two UC seats available on the flight so we let the soon to be newlyweds take them and we're in PE). We're now nearly in Las Vegas. The crew have been great and we got little thank you notes for being Gold members.
