First post, it's a nightmare.
Due to fly Virgin MAN to LAS Premium on Sunday. Flight cancelled due to lack of crew. 5hrs later we are booked to travel today MAN to JFK to LAS. Second leg on Delta, first leg Virgin Premium. Today the Delta flight is cancelled. We are now booked tomorrow Virgin to LAS but Economy Delight as nothing else available.

I know we get £520 for delay and we are entitled to money back for the downgrade. Virgin have rung and offered us free roundtrip premium tickets. Book within 18 months, use in 3 yrs. Are these worth taking or are lots of dates blacked out? I teach so my holidays are restricted. We go to Vegas every summer so could only use these late July into August. I would book as soon as seats are released if we got them. Anyone got any experience with them?

Vegas is a hard route for reward seats due to only being one flight per day.

However, VS do have guaranteed availability (similar to BA) so you can snag seats if you're on the ball.

You could also use the seats for any other VS destination. You could easily do LAX/SFO and hop some cheap internal flights onto LAS during the same trip.

Honestly, these situations are not ideal. But I'd take the tickets. Make sure to check with the agent which type you're getting. Do the tickets include the taxes & fees or are they extra. See this post for a little more information.

On the face of it, I’d take the tickets but I’d also ask about whether there are any catches beyond the book within 18 months to use within 3 years time limits.
