Hi all, I have a one way 'H' fare premium ticket that I would like to change the date of travel on. Does anyone know what the change rules/fees are for the ticket? When I go into the booking online and go to change the date it says I need to ring Virgin so will like to know if I can change it before waiting hours on end on hold only to be told it can't be changed. Can't seem to find any info online either :(

All VS bookings regardless of ticket type require a phone call or online chat (if you can find that) to change.

Any fare can be changed, it’s just that some fare types come with higher change fess. It’s not going to be cheap to change unfortunately.

H fare rules:

Changes
Before Departure: For a fee
Before Departure: Change allowed for GBP250.00

After Departure: For a fee
After Departure: Change allowed for GBP250.00

Cancellations
Refund for a fee
Ticket refund for GBP350.00

Thanks for the reply and info! Interesting re. the cancellation fee as I called Virgin last week, and the agent told me the ticket was non-refundable and couldn’t be cancelled not even for a fee.

Replying to this thread rather than make a new one...

I'm travelling with someone next week who has a Premium "H" ticket. Is it possible they can upgrade to Upper using their rewards voucher and points, and if so, when is the best time to do this? e.g. could it be cheaper on the day subject to availability?

They have 50k points + 75k from a voucher; even if they could get upgraded one way, that would be something.

Yes thats doable. The amount of points they need will depend on the amount Upper is currently selling for (be ready for an eye watering amount).

Ring VS and get it priced, thats the only way.

When you said eye watering amount, you weren’t joking.

Premium economy cash ticket was £1700 booked six months in advance.

To upgrade to upper is either £3550 or 525,000 points plus taxes.

Beyond a joke.

Does it stand to reason that it might be cheap on the day/at check-in, if there is any availability? Or am I being naive?

I've heard rumours of that being the case but cannot confirm that. At least not until the week after next when I try it myself. Once I've done that, i'll be looking to update my upgrade thread.

I’m travelling in a few days, and according to the seat selector, there are 10 seats available in upper. I would assume this is plenty of opportunity for a cheap upgrade.

I’ll report back after the weekend.
