I need to book LHR to LAX and I just noticed I am now at silver tier member.

Does that mean I can fly economy light (cabin bag only), but still take a free checked bag and get priority check in and boarding through my silver benefits?

It’s coming to £500 return trip which seems reasonable given some of the perks of silver.

I did consider flying back in upper class on the night flight but the app won’t give me this option unless I upgrade to economy classic on the inbound, is this by design?

Thanks

This is from the Economy Light/Delight technical information given to travel agents & GTS staff when the type launched, I believe it's still accurate:

Combinability

Any combination of Upper, Premium, Economy Delight, Economy Classic is possible within fare rules.

Economy Light cannot be combined with any other fare or brand.

Baggage, I am not sure of. Flying Club Silver benefits do not have an exclusion listed for Economy Light specifically.

Thanks for this.

I'll have to spend the £150 extra to go economy classic if I want to come home upper.

I know it's a small amount in the grand scheme of things, but it negates some of the benefits/savings from being a higher tier.
