WINGS / UNIQ Status

First time poster here! So I'm not completely sure on formalities so I'll do my best to explain so I'll make a few questions to the members. And apologies in advance if I have broken any rules mods feel free to message me.

I'm going to be a BA defector come April 1st of this year given the recent news on their scheme. I've worked out I would collect around 10K-15K TPs a year on VS. Reading past threads it seems like it is 2K on VS metal gets me in the club no problem. However my concern is am I aimlessly adding TPs to my virgin account past the 2K mark? Or is there a secret for us high earners that we get additional vouchers or benefits.

It's also not entirely clear what the benefits would be by chasing this status if you don't want to say publicly I would really appreciate a private message from someone if they are kind enough. Or least an up to date version of the benefits for 2025

Those who do have WINGS is there preoccupation in benefits with Delta 360 in terms of benefits out of certain hubs?

Is UNIQ still going and if so I assume it's a level above WINGS I'd like to think I would also be in for a shout with my spending and earnings of TP's. Considering lifetime is only 7.5K for gold with 10 years of AU (I receive VS gold annually via my centurion card not sure if it contributes to the 10 consecutive years)

any info at all I would really appreciate as it does seem to be hush hush by most.

I'm not sure there's a public criteria for wings membership - I think I only got it after flying nearly 1.3 million miles (mainly in Economy / Premium) and they just felt sorry for me

As far as I'm aware Wings and UNIQ are the same thing. So far I've seen no benefits of Wings when flying Delta although on VS there's more often than not some better soft treatment on-board, free flight cancellation / no change fees, and extra people can be invited into the CH.

I'm currently a GGL with BA and generally the VS treatment, especially in less premium cabins, is far superior.

I thought UNIQ was for celebs/friends of SRB and more of a heads up for Cabin Crew and WINGS was more for High Value/Earning Customers. That could have changed over the years but compared to other flying status communities, those with higher Flying Club status I think it still relatively small. I'm a lowly AU and apparently I'm often the only AU on a flight (crew sometimes share that info) even on what you would think would be more common destinations like BOS & SFO.

My understanding was that Lifetime Gold was butt-in-seat Virgin flown miles/tier points. I think I read somewhere that Partner TP's didn't count and Gold status had to be earned each year not given via a CC or gifted via VS (like a break for having a child). I'm not even sure the bonus tier points where they used things like double TP for a period count for LTG.

I don't even know how you can check on Gold for Life apart from the Flown Miles calculator on the old 'My Account' page to give you a hint about how many miles your away from a million? Does anyone know?

Whilst you won’t find a lot of information about Wings as it’s not documented anywhere, I could be wrong here but my understanding is that Wings is purely revenue based i.e. how much you spend with VS. I believe it triggers after you spend above a certain amount directly with VS within 12 months.

Saying that though, VS do certainly make an effort when it comes to recognising Flying Club Gold flyers though as I’ve had those nice little notes left for me at my seat on my last half a dozen flights this year and I’ve always had a personal welcome on-board from the FSM and/or the CSS.

The GFL 7500 tier points (or 1 million miles) do indeed have to be on VS metal only. Partner airline tier points or miles don't count. Flying Club staff can see where you are upto wit this and the will tell you if you ask. No idea why this info cannot be put on the website or app though? VS do show your total miles flown on VS metal already (but only once you hit Gold).

I've been VS Gold now for 7 years and the only thing I was told that the Flying Club status freeze during COVID does count towards GFL so anyone who was AU during COVID basically gets an extra year towards GFL for free.

Hi - not sure what the protocol is around discussing Wings, but received an invite yesterday so keen to understand what it means practically and the criteria specifics on retaining it (eg how the Tier Points work etc as they are on an annual basis vs the anniversary date on usual Tier points etc)
