Seen a few reports:

JFK services to reduce from 5 to 4x daily
SFO to increase to 2 daily on most days
SEA to reduce from 1 daily to 4x weekly
MCO to possibly increase to 2x daily as Delta dropped their 4x weekly

What are people’s thoughts? Do you think more cuts due to the political situation are coming?

If demand continues to soften and if they are hole enough to do so, VS should diversify away from the US. It depends whether some of that demand that would ordinarily go to the US goes elsewhere or if there are certain non-US destinations that VS have prioritised the US over they could focus on instead.

Fundamentally, they have to find a use for those LHR slots and aircraft.

Expect we'll see a small reduction and diversification in W25. They have had to reduce some routes given 789 issues too. Expect delta will pick up some slack - SEA I could see moving to DL for a season, VS will focus on core routes and then I could see some further tweaking and new routes in 26.

I saw a post on Facebook this morning about UBF reportedly being dropped this winter and MBJ increasing to daily in January. I’m struggling to verify this, but LHR-UVF doesn’t appear to be bookable when I did a quick dummy search for early-Dec. Does anybody know any more?

This was the Trade notice sent earlier last month;

As we continue to optimise our network, we regularly review the destinations we fly to. From January 2026, we will increase our direct flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica, operating daily for the peak winter months due to high demand. We’re also delighted to start a three times weekly seasonal winter service to Cancun, Mexico this October.

The changes mean that unfortunately we’ll be suspending our seasonal service to St Lucia, which will not resume in October 2025.

Thanks. A shame about UVF, though not surprising given their seasonal commitment since it returned on a seasonal basis compared to BA’s year-round ops.

I think the Accra route that was delayed and supposed to begin in the W25 schedule has also been quietly dropped;
our new services to Accra will be delayed until the Winter 2025/26 season, which starts 26 October 2025.

Did tickets ever go on sale for Accra? It is listed on the reward seat checker (albeit no reward seats), but yes the route is not on the W25 schedule on flight status

Yes as VS Trade put out rebooking options for BA;

Passengers that have been impacted by a VS cancellation may be rebooked onto services operated by BA

Valid for re-protections on to BA services to/from LHR-ACC/ACC-LHR

· Rebooking using BA when VS is not operating services to/from LHR-ACC

· Customers connecting to/from other VS/VS* services should remain on a VS/VS* flight where available

· If the original booking class isn’t available, re-book in the lowest available class in the booking class tables below

· If the original cabin is not available, rebook in a lower cabin in the lowest available class

Tel Aviv will not restart in W25:

https://flywith.virginatlantic.com/gb/e ... etins.html

After careful consideration, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel our services between London Heathrow and Tel Aviv.

We will continue to serve Tel Aviv as the only UK airline to have a partnership with EL AL, Israel’s national carrier, on services between Tel Aviv Ben Gurion and London Heathrow.

Given the ongoing situation in that part of the world, I'm not surprised VS have cut the route.

I have also noticed on my flight next year Vs136 MCO-LHR is still scheduled on flight schedule, but it has been taken off of sale. So presuming they are reducing services in winter for MCO route too.

The alterntivage service is vs92, with 16 UC seats. So now it’s a waiting game if vs136 does cancel, and if we get the UC seats on vs92

Winter has been just 1 daily flight for a few years i thought, the VS135/136 only operates between late March/Late October?
VS holidays always offer the 135/136 then move people onto the 91/92

Not sure regarding that. Bookings must be down; as Delta withdrew their LHR-MCO route which is what I originally booked. Then managed to get 29k UC seats on Vs136 back to LHR only a few weeks ago for January.
But hope they do cancel the vs136 quickly so we can move to the other flight as currently no booked seats in UC on the other flight but as that’s A350 leisure with 16, just hope we won’t be downgraded

I’m also booked on the VS135 on 15th March but have just checked and that’s been taken off sale as well now.

How soon do they normally move people to the available flight?

I got a really cracking deal on UC with points on this flight, if there cancelling the VS135 do they automatically move passengers onto the alternative or am I going to be faced with issues getting on another flight given the low points I paid?

I am in same boat, my redemption was 29k each for vs136. They should move automatically and normally I am hoping it should be this weekend. When delta took their LHR-MCO flight off sale, that was a Tuesday and got official confirmation of cancellation that weekend.
It is just that the earlier flight , is the A350 leisure config which has 16 UC seats compared to the 33 on A330

Nothing come through so far today which is annoying, would rather they just sort it if it’s going to get downgraded to a small A/C

I’ve just realised I’m in the same boat for my outbound flight to Orlando in January. Getting a little anxious about this as I have connecting flights booked for the previous day. I’m booked in PE.

I did message them on chat function today and they advised to send an email to customer service outlining my « research » and to see if they can already do something.

My plans changed in the end and we will be going back to NYC after Miami and Fort Lauderdale, so I managed to snag a JFK outbound in UC for 34k points each on the same day.

Have you managed to get yours changed already then?

No, I bought new tickets so I didn’t have to pay the change fee so , if or when they cancel the vs136 I’ll just get a full refund.

Understand now!

I just wish they would get on with it, it makes booking things like car hire a pain.

I hate how flaky Virgin can be with schedule changes
