IMHO the leisure config was not a good choice by VS. But 1/2A should be fine. There is a bulkhead between The Booth and 1A. And people may not even use it. When I last flew that aircraft nobody used it. I’ll be on it again in about 2 weeks.

The big downside of UC on that config is that Premium will disembark before Upper like they did on the old 747s. Other than that, the seats are the same as the normal config.

One problem with 1a is that there might be some crew stuff / safety briefing stuff in the overhead bin.

There’s still plenty space further up though.

Even with people in the “loft” area, you won’t be bothered but the only toilet in that small cabin is in front of the right hand side row 1K so unless your comfortable walking through the galley, you need to go the long way found.

IMHO that little loft thing is a total waste of space and should have been another toilet.

The small bonus with 1a is a bit of extra leg room and you do sometimes disembark from the front door into Orlando so a little bonus there.

Hello. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and advice.
First time flying on the leisure configuration.

At the moment I have 1A, 1K and 4K available.

Mco - Lhr flight.

Which would you suggest as I’m a light sleeper.
1A concerned by the loft
1k conceded by the toilet
4A concerned by potential little one in PE.

Thank you

I’d opt for row 1 on a night flight. Loft is unlikely to be used after dinner service I’d say.

Row 1 also has a much bigger footwell with extra cushioning on one side (well certainly on the other 44 x J seat A350 config; I would guess this config is the same?) which makes a big difference on night flights when in bed mode.

Again on the 44 x J config A350 there’s also a wardrobe inbetween row 1 and the washroom(s). Looking at Aerolopa seat maps, this A350 config looks the same on the K side.

I always try for row 1 on night flights when flying on an A350.

What’s the disembarking like having to wait to get off after premium? Is it a pain when you’re used to just hopping off first? Flying first time September on this layout to MCO and worried it’ll be a mad rush to immigration

Indeed. Premium off first followed by Upper class and economy. Maybe lucky if the have a 2nd jet bridge (I.e Vegas) but in most cases you’ll follow behind premium. My advice is to do the MPC app or GE if you have it.

It's important to remember the low J A350 was design to replace the LGW/MAN 747's. Now the AC are based at LHR/MAN I think VS should just standardise the A350 fleet to a 44 seat UC cabin. Because VS want to grow premium and upper-class revenues so sticking with the leisure configuration long-term is just leaving money on the table.

Yes I think they might do this after the B787 refit.
It makes sense.

Bit of a pain tbh but I’ll be landing at MCO terminal C so I’m hoping the suitcases come off first to grab and go before the rush through immigration. I’ll be using the MPC app but I think everyone will be doing g the same

Whilst I don't have the pleasure of Terminal C for the first time until next week, the only thing that will control your speed through immigration is the baggage reclaim. If they load a container in the wrong sequence in the UK / you land when lightning is in the area (quite possible at this time of year) then you are "messed up" to put it politely. Yes, Global Entry / MPC will help once you have got your bags, but there were reports of 4hr delays last week due to thunderstorms in the vicinity of the airport.

As to the A350 Leisure config, I normally go for row 2 - avoids all the crew rubbish in the overhead bins around row 1 and you are just that bit further away from the Booth / toilet. On my last leisure config return flight, 3 young lads [admittedly in Upper] seemed to think the Booth was a "play den" and even the crew spoke to parents as it was an overnight flight.

If you remember please give some updates on here if that’s ok? Be interested to hear your thoughts on everything?

I was thinking maybe being new in terminal C they’ll iron out some of these kinks?
Hoping the cases come out in the right order to help be on our way quicker and using MPC would be helpful.
I saw the 4 hour delay come up which must have been a nightmare for everyone but I’ve landed and it’s always been dry luckily.

We arrived Thursday last week around lunchtime and were in the car in less than 30 mins. That was still terminal A and global entry.
